MEMORABILIA STORE ASSIGNMENT

In this assignment, we were required to come up with a design of a memorabilia store for our music genre combined with a design style that was given to us. For my project it is Classic Pop with the Eclectic style.

This is the presentation board and model that I have done for the assignment. The idea behind the design was based on the Roman Garden, coming from the Classic idea of the music genre and mixing it with the Eclectic style.

THE PLAYLIST ASSIGNMENT

In this assignment we were required to design an iconic compact listening booth that suits the mood, music essence and characteristic that best expresses sound. Below is the listening booth that I design and the model I make.

In this assignment we was required to design a 2400mm (h) x 2400mm (w) x 300mm (d) rhythm wall with a scale of 1:75 about a music genre we have chosen.

The rhythm wall that is based on the musical genre Classic Pop. The main inspiration for my rhythm wall is based on one of Michael Jackson's song. From the song, I extracted the keywords of GROOVE, RELEASE and STRONG. The keyword groove is represented by the middle wave-line of the wall, and unlike other pop styles, classic pop is smooth and relaxing. The birds represent the keyword release, being free from the shackles of gravity and flying up in the sky, and it is also represents the style of the music which is free from the constrains of style as it changes as time goes by. For strong, I have used the tick board to make the tag line of my board which is "JUST BEAT IT" to make the word look stronger and powerfull.

This is the first assignment I did in my IDP class in semester 2. When we started to do the project we have to do research about Classic Pop and understand about the style , mood , culture about Classic Pop. At the beginning while doing research we have some problem of understanding the different between classic pop and classical pop. After the the help of lecture explaining the different to us, we have understand the information of classic pop we start to discuss about hw dto do the infrographic board. After discuss we decided to do our infographic board into a vintage radio & its about timeline, how's popular music changes from beginning to now.
